Ann Curry

Ann Curry is a photojournalist, journalist and author who has reported on war zones for the past forty-five years. Her work focuses on human suffering as well as disasters. Curry was a reporter for the wars that raged in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry, born November 19th 1956 (Agana) is an American journalist who served as a television news anchor. Curry is known for her coverage of human-rights crises as well as natural disasters, especially in countries that have been devastated by the war. Curry's maternal grandmother is Japanese and her father was an US Navy Sargent. Her mother was living alongside her father in Japan following World War II. Her father served in the military, so her family had to move around a lot. Curry finished her high school education in Ashland Oregon. Her graduation with a journalist certificate at the University of Oregon in 1978. Ashland in Oregon is the location where Curry received her degree. Her journey to a successful career when she began her broadcasting career by working as an intern for KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon. She later became the first news reporter female at the station, at aged of just 22. After that, she moved onto becoming an anchor reporter and anchor for KGW, which is an NBC affiliate station in Portland. After that, she moved into Los Angeles four years later to work as a reporter for KCBS TV. It was during her association with the channel for a period of six years that she received two Emmy Awards.
